Vo din bhi kya din the

Writer: Chehak KhattarChehak Khattar

"Attention everyone! I want you guys to remember the most memorable time we have spent and text me ASAP."

I messaged in my friends group the other day. Back came so many responses. Nobody had just a single memorable moment but more than that.

And then for the next half an hour we laughed our hearts out living those moments again. Everyone realised, Vo din bhi kya din the!

So for this time I decided to tell you all what jokers we were. We made ourselves and every other person laugh. Even our teachers couldn't help but have a great time as soon as they stepped in our class.

Our group was famously called as Navrattan. A group of nine and each one of us was like a true gem.

Where should I start from?

There was this one time, when we had a dental checkup to be done, and one person from our group said,

" Arey yar mai sirf aaj hi brush karke nahi aaya"😂

You can't even imagine the roars of laughter that went echoing in the whole school.

One time when we were practicing for our farewell dances, and decided to take a break, my friend Sherry ( her name is Shreya but we call her that) did something hysterical.

She opened a dupatta, wore it like a veil and danced like there was no one else in the room besides her.

We kept on changing from one item song to another and she kept on changing her dance steps. She was in a full swing from Sheela ki Jawani to Munni Badnam hui. But the moment we played Sapna Choudhary songs, there was this crazy energy that came into her. Damn she shook a leg. You can't imagine how watching her live performance felt like. Out of nowhere another person of our group Jiya, tied another dupatta on her head as of acting like a male protagonist. (Tbh they looked good together🤭)

We on the other hand tore newspaper into little pieces and threw at them as if we were throwing money. What. A. Day.

Our group was always happy being isolated. As they say, nobody could be entertained by us as us.

Then the games of truth and dare were played. Our teachers too got involved. I vividly remember that day. It was like we were sitting in a laughing club.

We made the boys do a ramp walk while wearing a dupatta, we went outside, wore a teacher's slippers and came back to class like nothing happened while the teacher was sitting there clueless. Some of you might think of this as a disrespect but trust me, we had no intentions of doing so. Our teachers knew how we were and they were totally cool.

We were always a class that could manipulate our teachers into not teaching us. (Teachers if you are reading this, we are so sorry🤭).

We were always into extracurricular stuff. We just needed one reason not to study.

The boys in our class used to play kabaddi when the teachers were not around. We would turn the class into a live comical session and we would spark guffaws around the room. We used to gather together to have lunch and discuss the gossip for the day. As I said, we enjoyed our own company.

Oh god. I remember the trip. THE BEST TIME.

The trip night was the best part. The part where we all got dressed up to go for an insane dance party and bonfire. After that we were awake the whole night and did crazy things. All thanks to my friend Aanchal for making that night a hit.

Now as I look back, I cherish these moments. Ofcourse everytime it wasn't a strawberry world for us. We fought, we stopped talking at a point. We were drifted. But still we worked it out.

Did this blog somehow remind you the friends group you had once? I am hoping it did.

This blog wasn't supposed to give any moral knowledge or a message particularly. But yes, I would like to give just a friendly piece of advice. Go make an effort for your friends.Call them, start talking. Forget the ego. Ego brings regret. Atleast do your part so that you can happily say, Vo din bhi kya din the!

This was sooooo amazing Chehak. I felt like I was a part of your group while even not being there. It reminded me of my class too. The boys in our class used clap on their thighs and we called it Thailand 😂😂😂😂

The trip part reminded me of our trip to shimpla. Humne kya kya nahi kiya. Cap se catch catch tak khela tha ek palace mein jaa ke humne 😂😂😂.

Truly, woh bhi kya din the...
